The first pink-flowered Ipheion, ‘Charlotte Bishop’ was discovered in England as a seedling of the old favorite ‘Wisley Blue.’ Blooms of ‘Charlotte Bishop’ are sweetly fragrant and highlighted by a dark stripe running through the center of the petals. Like other Ipheions, the leaves give off the scent of onions when bruised.
The foliage will persist until hot weather arrives, and then re-emerge from dormancy in late-September. Seedlings may not retain the same color as the parent, so remember to deadhead if you wish to keep your planting intact.
