Rodgersia pinnata 'Fireworks' is a late-flowering, feature plant for shade. Its bold, divided foliage is rimmed in red, and dusky red flower stems carry scarlet plumes. Majestic with larger ferns.
Rodgersia is an East Asian genus of about six species closely related to Astilbe. They are grown for their huge, leathery leaves; their showy, early-summer flowers; and their preference for shade and damp soil. They are rarely seen in gardens because, although they attain quite massive proportions, they are slow to get there.
