Distinguished by their trumpet shape, these blooms have the delicacy of a Japanese painting, not surprising since this cross between the Easter Lily (Lilium longiflorum) and an Oriental Lily originated there. The color of 'Miyabi' is crimson -- inside and out -- a real standout in the garden when paired with white Liatris, Echinacea, or Shasta Daisies. Lightly fragrant.
Plant Lilies in well-drained soil where they will receive six to eight hours of sun a day. When cutting the flowers for bouquets, remove no more than 1/3 of the stem. This provides sufficient leaves on the remaining stem to renew the bulb for the coming year.
