Combining the best of both worlds, this cross of a Sedum and an Orostachys has the Sedums clusters of attractive flowers and the Orostachys metallic blue foliage. Plants are tight and compact with a multitude of lateral branches, and are buried in a profusion of dark pink blooms in late summer. An excellent ground cover or addition to rock gardens. PPAF

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the Shipping Details box for each item. Please refer to the Shipping Details box to determine the earliest shipping time. Unless you specify otherwise, fertilizers, tools, and other non-plant items are shipped with your plants or bulbs. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at expected time of delivery.

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Three Big Plants

Kaitlyn the Gardener from Houston, TX

I just received three (3) of these in the mail. I tried to attach a photo but the website had an error and wouldn't let me. All three are larger than their pots and are blooming, but it's towards the end of their bloom season, so they don't look very pretty and they are quite leggy - not compact at all. The color of the "leaves" are a paler blue/green than I expected, but I suspect that has more to do with being shipped and being in bloom, than the quality of the plants. I will be planting them around the bases of two trees that I have already planted crocus bulbs around. I am hoping these eventually cover the dirt and the crocus bloom through them. I will update next year once they have had time to settle in!

Upright forms: Plant in full sun (or partial shade in the South) in average, well-drained soil. The dried flower heads of many varieties remain attractive in winter, whether left standing in the garden or brought indoors. Mature plants may require staking. Plants will be more compact if the tips of new spring growth are pinched back by ⅓ when the stems are 4–6″ tall.

Low-growing forms: These colorful, vigorous, but well-behaved ground covers are perfect for decorating openings between stones in a path or wall, and invaluable for rock gardens and troughs. They have the same growing needs as the upright forms, thriving with little care and moisture.

Sedum Tile® is a blend of Sedums grown on a coconut fiber mat for gardens, rooftops, and containers. They are easy to install—simply place the tiles 12" apart from each other over 2–3" of damp soil, firm down, and water thoroughly. For growing in containers, simply cut the coconut fiber to fit your container and plant the tiles over 2–3" of damp soil, firm down, and water thoroughly.
