Primrose yellow blossoms deeply trimmed with amethyst are as pretty as jewels set in a basket of green. 'Starry Night' flowers on densely compact plants, slightly domed to better display their wares, and their sweet scent attracts butterflies and bees. Some shade and extra water during midsummer helps extend flowering. 'Lord Primrose' PP 18,253
Viola is a valuable genus composed of over 400 species of perennials from the world's temperate regions. Extensive hybridizing has resulted in many gradations of flower form and hardiness. The varieties we offer are reliably perennial for us. They prosper in full sun or partial shade (partial shade is always best in the South and the warmest reaches of Zones 9 and 10 in the West). Violas need even moisture and tolerate quite damp soil. For more information on growing and care, click "Growing Guide."
