Potato Bags and Kennebec Tubers

Potato Bags and Kennebec Tubers

Grow a great crop of Potatoes anywhere in soft-sided, porous-fabric bags! The dark material quickly warms up in spring and then sheds heat when the season grows hot, promoting vigorous, healthy roots. Plant and care for your tubers just as you would in the ground, but with easier access for harvesting. Bags can be reused for years and fold flat for efficient storage. We include two bags, 18in wide, 14 1/2in tall, holding 15gal of potting mix each, plus 10 minitubers of 'Kennebec' Potatoes. Typical yields are 6-10lb per 10 minitubers. Potting mix not included.

Released in 1948 at the Maine Agricultural Experiment Station, 'Kennebec' is well known for its culinary quality and adaptability to various growing conditions. Because the spuds' tender skins bruise too easily for long-distance shipping, this disease-resistant, sturdy variety is perfect for home gardens. Oblong white-skinned tubers mature in late season (over 90 days) in a variety of sizes, with thin skins and moist, sweet white flesh. Their rich, satisfying texture makes a simple, perfect meal (pop one in the microwave for a quick lunch). Cutting into the steamy tender skin to enjoy its tender flesh and fluffy texture is one of a busy day's little indulgences. For information on growing Potatoes, click "Growing Guide".

Potatoes begin shipping in early to mid-March (weather permitting). No Express or Priority delivery.
