A great choice for braiding and for long storage, this softneck Garlic in the Silverskin group has rose-colored cloves and bright white skins. It's particularly popular in France and Italy, as well as in the southern and western United States. 'Silver Rose' produces 12-15 cloves per head; 35-34 per 1/2 pound.
For plump, crisp Garlic bursting with flavor, grow your own -- it's easy. Plant individual cloves in the fall and then harvest full heads from each one the next year. After drying and curing, braid the stems and store until use (45-55°:F and 50% relative humidity is ideal).
