NEW! Basil Lettuce Leaf
Sorry, this product is sold out.
One of the oldest classic Basil strains, 'Lettuce Leaf' offers fragrant leaves that sometimes grow to 4in in length and width. The broad leaves have smooth edges and deeply crinkled centers. Cut the mildly spicy leaves all summer by pruning back to a second set of leaves whenever you harvest. Shred the leaves right into any mixed salad or use in place of Lettuce in sandwiches. For a delicious sauce for vegetables and pasta, chop together a handful of 'Lettuce Leaf' leaves, fresh Tomatoes, cured olives, and fresh Garlic, then mix with a drizzle of fruity extra-virgin olive oil. The giant leaves also make perfect wrappers to stuff with cheese and serve as tasty appetizers. For more information on growing Basil click "Growing Guide" at left.
