The tapered shape and bright color make 'Sweet Banana' a favorite for pickling, salads and frying. Its 6in mild-flavored fruits are usually eaten at the yellow stage but get sweeter as they turn scarlet. This ornamental yet dependable and prolific heirloom was developed from seed introduced from Hungary in 1932 and is still one of our most popular non-Bell, sweet Peppers. It ripens from yellow to red 70–85 days from transplant. For information on growing Peppers, click on "Growing Guide & Tips".
Our stocky seedlings are grown and shipped in 3in pots that are a full 4in deep, so the plants you receive have strong, well-developed root systems. Full instructions for planting and care included.
