A gorgeous dwarf form of the ever-popular 'Bloodgood', 'Shaina' makes a rounded mound of color. Its leaves are bright red when they open, then turn purplish and finally green. All three colors appear on the plant simultaneously and end in fall in a fiery finale. Superb as a small garden specimen.
The 150 species of Maples have a wide distribution, from Europe and Asia to North and Central America. Their winged fruits twirl like helicopters when they drop, but their often colorful, lobed or finely cut leaves are their real attraction.
