Cercis canadensis Forest Pansy
Shipped for Spring Planting
A small genus (about six species of deciduous trees and shrubs) nonetheless distributed over a wide area, across both coasts of North America to the Mediterranean and Eastern Asia. We offer a very handsome selection of our native Eastern Redbud, called 'Forest Pansy' (and delightful for the name alone). In spring the heart-shaped leaves emerge a reddish purple, then turn to bronzy green as the season progresses. The flowers are a bit deeper in color and open later than the species. A smaller, yet valuable specimen tree. 18-24in bareroot plants.
