Weigela My Monet is a tricolor, compact Old-fashioned Weigela Honeysuckle that grows to 18in tall and 18 wide, an ideal size for foundation plantings, mixed borders, and pathways in full sun to partial shade. Leaves of this Weigela emerge bright pink, gradually turning green in the centers and creamy white on the edges. In May and June, bright magenta flowers will attract butterflies. The dozen or so species of the genus Weigela are easy-to-grow, deciduous woodland shrubs from east Asia. Their showy flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and many Weigelias are worth growing in shrub borders or lightly shaded gardens for their foliage effects.
