A brilliant little foliage plant with a mass of slender burgundy-and-green leaves. We like to combine it with the chartreuse and reddish brown leaves of Pelargonium 'Indian Dunes' and coppery Coleus 'Henna' (PP 19,149) in our annual containers. Thrives in heat and humidity.
The genus Alternanthera contains more than 100 species of brilliantly colored foliage plants in the Amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. The foliage of different varieties are strongly marked with white, yellow, pink, and coppery red. For more information on growing and care, click on Growing Guide.
