Whether you grow lots of varieties (as we do) or a few prized ones, you'll want plants unobtrusively identified in the garden each season. The best markers to use are rustproof, silver-gray zinc nameplates with galvanized steel wire uprights. To make them easy to read without bending down, we've had them custom-made in a taller 15-in. size, with standard 2 1/2-in. nameplates. Best of all, it's always easy to find them, even at the end of the season when plants are big and bushy. Set of 25 markers includes a nonfading pen.
