In 1923 the American Peony Society initiated an award for plants with "outstanding excellence and performance." Some recipients of the APS Gold Medal are no longer commercially available, but many are as familiar to gardeners today as they were in the year they were honored. We've chosen three award-winners from our list to offer together: blush pink 'Nick Shaylor' (which won both in 1941 and 1972), coral-peach 'Coral Charm' (1986) and deep pink 'Paula Fay' (1988).
