These large white goblets look lovely and fresh in fall. This variety is also vigorous and easy to grow, which won it an Award of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society.
The bright, vase-shaped blooms of Colchicums rise without warning and glisten in the sharp light of autumn, offering a completely fresh and unique personality for that time of year. In spring, a clump of coarse leaves emerges, stays awhile, and vanishes by midsummer. We plant the bulbs in front of shrubs, among vigorous perennials, and at the grassy foot of a fence. Colchicums prefer well-drained soil that doesn't dry out in summer, and they need shade where summers are hot. Please order early, as we ship these bulbs beginning in early September.
