It may seem hard to believe that a newly planted bulb would bloom just a few weeks later, but that's exactly what these cheerful fall-blooming Crocus do the first year. We anticipate and welcome their return each fall just as much as we do their spring-blooming counterparts. Our mix includes 7 varieties listed below, and they will provide a long run of color in shades of lilac, purple, and white for a delightful fall finale. 25 bulbs, not labeled. Covers approximately 1½ sq ft.

  • Crocus pulchellus - lilac
  • Crocus pulchellus 'Albus' - white
  • Crocus speciosus - violet
  • Crocus speciosus 'Albus' - white
  • Crocus speciosus 'Cassiope' - lavender
  • Crocus speciosus 'Artabir' - light blue
  • Crocus speciosus 'Conqueror' - violet blue

Perhaps because the sun is so low in the sky after the autumn equinox, the blooms of fall Crocus positively glow in the landscape. They appear between September and January (depending on your climate) on stems 3–6″ tall and have the same refined goblet-shaped flowers of their spring cousins.

We ship fall Crocus in September. The bulbs must be planted right away so they may go about the business of rooting. Fall Crocus grow best in a sunny, protected site.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Only purple

All the bulbs that bloom are purple. No white or other colors. Where is the mix?

Much needed Fall color

We had nothing blooming in our yard during the early Fall so last year, planted a few of these. Immediately regretted not getting more when the cheery little blooms began popping up! This year, as soon as they were available, bought 50 more and planted around our yard. Just as before, almost all have bloomed, as well as those from last year. I don't know about a "mix" since all of the blooms are purple but that's not an issue for us because they certainly have brightened an otherwise dull landscape.

Wow!!

I ordered 1 package but now I wish I ordered more. They were sprouting when I received and planted them on 10/10. On 10/31 they were 6" tall with amazing blooms. It was supposed to be a variety but only 1 kind was received. Not complaining! I wish I knew which variety so I could order loads more.

They bloomed in the spring...we'll see if they bloom again in the fall.

I planted them as soon as I got them in the fall last year and they bloomed beautifully in the spring. I'm curious to see if they will bloom again this fall.

Simply Magical

I think I first purchased these 3 or 4 years ago. I had no idea there was such a thing as fall crocuses. I planted them and they came up within a few weeks. They have come back year after year and I always enjoy them. I've ordered them once or twice more just so I would have more in more parts of my yard. It is so nice to have a perennial like this that blooms in the fall.
