These two simply belong together. Dictamnus albus 'Purpureus' is a bone-hardy, long-lived perennial with pale pink flowers veined deep reddish violet, its color perfectly echoed by Allium 'Purple Sensation'. The contrasting shapes of their blooms add interest and texture to the perennial border. While the Allium’s foliage keeps a low profile, the Gas Plant's leaves remain dark green and glossy all season. Both of these low-maintenance, virtually deer-proof varieties have earned awards from the Royal Horticultural Society. The collection includes three plants of the Dictamnus and 12 Allium bulbs.
Please Note: Dictamnus contains an oil that may cause severe dermatitis, especially in sunny, humid conditions. The common name Gas Plant comes from this volatile oil, which reportedly can ignite in hot, still weather. We've never witnessed this ourselves.
