HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED
The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

This is my favorite Amaryllis of all time and I've grown many different varieties over the years. The flowers are the perfect shade of red and are absolutely huge! Last year I had flowers that were 8" across. I always manage to get these bulbs to bloom again a second year indoors and then I put them out in our zone 7 garden for another 2 or 3 years of late spring color. Although the bulbs seem a bit pricey at first, the return on my investment is unbelievable.

We enjoy a White Flower Farm amaryllis at Christmas. This is the first year we tried "Ferrari," and it was true to its name. Leaves burst out of the bulb within days, and by Christmas we had flowers. During a month of flowering, we enjoyed three huge bloom stalks, each with four immense and Ferrari red blooms. We've had over five weeks of blooms; the last stalk is just now beginning to fade (1/30/13).

Planted... placed in an area near a heat vent...North side of house. Windows were in room but only that light. WAs amazed at how Amaryllis responded! Took pictures a few times to show progression of blooms. Tried to send to White flower but not sure if they got them . Was unable to send to their facebook page which an employee in customer service said I should do. A great product tho especially in Western New York state..

GROWING AMARYLLIS OUTDOORS
GROWING AMARYLLIS INDOORS
Amaryllis sent already potted need only a thorough watering with lukewarm water to begin growing. Then follow the "Pre-bloom Care" instructions below.
Please note: These Amaryllis are shipped with a layer of decorative Spanish moss on top of each pot. Cut the rubber band that holds the Spanish moss in place and arrange the moss around the bulb so it looks attractive.
Potting Bareroot Bulbs
Please note: Some of our Amaryllis kits are shipped with a disk of potting medium (Cocopeat). Follow the directions on the package for rehydrating the disk. Fill the pot about 1/2 full with Cocopeat, set the bulb on top, and fill in around the bulb with additional Cocopeat. Adjust the position of the bulb as needed so that the top 1/3 of the bulb is exposed. Do not be concerned if the final level of the Cocopeat is down inside the pot. Firm the Cocopeat and water lightly to settle it around the bulb. Then follow the “Pre-bloom Care” instructions below.

Growing Amaryllis in Stones and Water
*We recommend trimming dried roots off because they will decompose in water over time. Adding aquarium charcoal to the river stones will also help prevent any odors.
