Growing Tunica (Tunic Flower)

Latin Name Pronunciation: too'nik-uh

Grow Tunica in full sun and average well-drained soil.  Plants are low-growing, spreading. Space 8–12″ apart. Tolerates dry soil and drought. No serious pests or diseases. Not a good choice for the hot and humid South. Combine with Perovskia, Lilies, Veronica, blue Salvia, using front of borders, or in rock gardens.

Many authorities now accept the new name Petrorhagia instead of Tunica for this genus native to Eurasia.
