Growing Guide
Verbena
Easy to grow in full sun and average garden soil. Remove spent blooms of V. 'Homestead Purple' and V. tenuisecta'Edith' to keep the color coming. V. bonarienses generally self-sows with abandon; scoop up the seedlings in spring and relocate them as you desire. V. bonarienses and V. 'Homestead Purple' are hardy to Zone 7 (0 degrees F). V. tenuisecta 'Edith' is hardy to Zone 8 (10°). If grown as perennials, plants should be pruned hard in spring to remove winter-damaged stems and ungainly growth and to encourage new growth and flowering.
