Growing Guide
Coreopsis (Tickseed)
Full sun. Not fussy about soil (C. rosea prefers, but does not require, damp soil -- except in the South). Remove spent flowers of C. grandiflora 'Early Sunrise' and 'Robin' to prolong bloom. Shear both C. rosea and C. 'Moonbeam' back by 1/4 - 1/2 as flowering slows in late summer to finish the season with a pleasing mound of needled foliage. In the South and West, this shearing will encourage a second wave of bloom. Please note that C. verticillata 'Moonbeam', which is shipped bareroot, will arrive as a tangle of roots and stems that defies attempts to distinguish top from bottom. We suggest that you dig a wide, shallow hole and set the spidery thing inside horizontally. Then cover it with about 1 inch of soil. The plant knows to send shoots up and roots down.
