Growing Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)

A productive member of the Mint family, Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis) is easy to grow in full sun to partial shade and average to even poor, well-drained soil. Water when the top 1in of soil is dry to the touch. Plants are drought tolerant once established. Be sure to contain your plant, as it tends to spread easily underground and from seed. Use the citrusy leaves in tea, summer drinks, or as a garnish. Hardy in Zones 4-9.
