Growing Ceratostigma (Leadwort)

Latin Name Pronunciation: sir-at-oh-stig'-mah 

Terminal clusters of blue flowers in August-September. Green foliage turns bright scarlet and bronze in fall. Height 9-12". Spreads to 12" or more. Rhizomatous roots.

Culture: Full sun to part shade. Good garden soil that is well-drained. Space 12" apart. Late to appear in spring in colder end of its range. Apply winter protection each year in zone 5 to insure survival.

Suggested Use: Combine with Crocus or other early bulbs. Use as ground cover or in edging borders.
