NEW AMARYLLIS FROM WHITE FLOWER FARM
Easy care amaryllis are great holiday gifts, even for non-gardeners. Watching these bulbs produce their large, colorful blooms is fun for all ages and will brighten up winter days indoors. The gardeners at White Flower Farm (www.whiteflowerfarm.com) review hundreds of amaryllis in Holland each year, and grow dozens at their nursery to be certain they perform as expected. Only the best make the cut and are then offered as large bulbs, guaranteed to produce at least two stems with four flowers per stem.
View White Flower Farm's full list of dozens of amaryllis varieties at www.whiteflowerfarm.com/amaryllis.
Some of the best-selling amaryllis include: 'Apple Blossom' (soft pink and white), 'Picotee' (white with fine red edge), 'Stargazer' (red with a white star), and doubles 'Nymph' (white with pinkish red brush marks) and 'Red Peacock' (solid red). When pressed, the staff at White Flower Farm agreed to name 5 of their favorite new amaryllis for the holiday season:

Despite the name, the two-tone blooms aren't purple, but pale pink threaded with deep pink veins.
