Product Details

We found this gorgeous double Shasta Daisy while visiting a nursery in Germany, and are pleased to introduce the lovely Leucanthemum x superbum 'Christine Hagemann' to American gardeners. Visitors to our trial garden were unanimous in their lavish praise for this stunning long-bloomer. Flowers are about 3½" across, and packed with white petals. The center retains a trace of ivory, while the exterior is pure white. Grows 30" tall, 36" wide. Fabulous cut flower, and a wonderful addition to the midsummer border.

Shipping

Shipping
Every state has agricultural regulations that restrict the shipment of certain plants. We're sorry, but we cannot ship this item to the following states: California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, Utah, Washington.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Lush & Showy

I mixed twelve small plants among my daylilies, thinking that the white flowers would add contrast to the colorful daylily blooms. Well, these shasta daisies grew tall and thick, and full of the most beautiful frilly flowers. The show lasted for several weeks. They were the highlight of my patio border. I have transplanted them as a lawn border, to give the overshadowed daylilies a chance. I would recommend these daisies wholeheartedly.

Leucanthemum (Shasta Daisy)

Formerly classified as Chrysanthemum, Shasta Daisies are some of the showiest and most reliable plants for the summer garden. They produce an abundant supply of flowers that come in a range of sizes and shapes. Their colors make for stunning displays in mixed beds.

Light/Watering: Plant in full sun in well-drained soil.

Fertilizer/Soil and pH: Leucanthemum enjoy rich fertile soil. Apply a balanced fertilizer (such as 10-10-10) in early spring.

Companions: Plant with Liatris, Hemerocallis, Monarda, Campanula and Delphinium.

Reflowering: Deadhead to promote new buds and trim back stems to about 12″ after flowering to encourage rebloom.

Dividing/Transplanting: The center of older varieties will weaken over the years and the plant should be lifted and divided in spring every 2 or 3 years. For more information about dividing perennials, check out Making More Perennials: A Guide to Simple Division.
