Allium 'Globemaster' from White Flower Farm

Allium 'Globemaster' from White Flower Farm Transcript

Allium ‘Globemaster’ is the giant of the ornamental onions. You can see here the beautiful head that’s covered with little star-like flowers, and it’s about 8-10” across. Allium bulbs are quite large. When you plant them, plant them in full sun, and about one size the size of the bulb down, from the top of the soil, so your depth is going to be about the size of the bulb itself.

Plant Alliums mixed in with perennials--you can see how beautiful it is here combined with Poppies. They flower at the same time and the purple and the red look beautiful together. Allium is a dormant plant in the summer. The leaves go dormant so you want to plant it with other perennials that will fill-in around it. ‘Globemaster’ creates drama in the garden with its beautiful big heads. It’s also deer resistant and hardy to zone 5. You can see why people come back and buy Allium ‘Globemaster’ and add more to their garden every year.
