Rich, beautifully textured shades of burgundy, blue, and gold bring vibrant color and interest to porch and patio containers. Anchored by the tall form of evergreen Arborvitae 'American Pillar,' our handsome autumn collection features the bristly blue foliage of Juniper 'Blue Star,' the frosted deep maroon leaves of Heuchera 'Shanghai,' the rosy red spikes of Calluna vulgaris 'Sabine,' and the small gold-and-green leaves of Boxwood 'Aureovariegata.' Complete care instructions included. 1 of each variety, 5 plants total. Container not included.

  • Heuchera 'Shanghai' (PP 21,859)
  • Calluna vulgaris 'Sabine'
  • Juniperus squamata 'Blue Star'
  • Buxus sempervirens 'Aureovariegata'
  • Thuja occidentalis 'American Pillar'

This collection fits in a container at least 18″ in diameter, and 14″ deep.

End-of-Season Care

If you choose to overwinter your plants, they will need a little special treatment. Although we can’t guarantee your plants’ successful return next year, here are our best recommendations.

Before winter, transplant the Heuchera into your garden and keep the shrubs in their container for holiday decorating. If necessary, top-dress your shrubs with extra potting soil to fill the container back to its original level.

Overwintering Your Shrubs in Containers

In colder climates (Zone 6), move the shrubs in their container to a sheltered, unheated area, such as a garage, after the holiday season is over. Remove the holiday decorations. In spring, transplant your shrubs into the garden where you’ll enjoy them for years to come.

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the Shipping Details box for each item. Please refer to the Shipping Details box to determine the earliest shipping time. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at expected time of delivery.

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.
