HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Not so good this year

I had the most beautiful, fragrant peonies delivered last year, so I expected the same this year. Three days after receiving them , most of the flowers were in petal mounds on my table. There was also very little fragrance this year, and the last two buds to open barely opened. Very disappointing.

Beautiful!

For the past three years, I’ve arranged for a peony bouquet to be delivered for my mom’s birthday in Decatur, IL. She’s in an apartment now and misses having a garden to grow peonies of her own. These bouquets do not disappoint. She raves about them and sends me pictures each year. Thank you for allowing me to provide this joy for her.

Embarrassed!

delivered May 19 placed in water within minutes of UPS arrival.
6- 10 shriveled and shedding by morning of May 22
dead morning of May 23
I sent emails to customer service with pictures -- twice
no response -- nothing.
Worse flower buying experience ever.
Their satisfaction guaranteed not honored.
Refund not honored.
I have picture proof of each stage - but this review format wouldn't allow them to be included.
It was a dinner centerpiece! embarrassing, never ever again!

BEAUTIFUL LONG STEMMED TIGHT BLOOMS.

Best peonies i have ever had other than those grown in my own garden. Well i should say perhaps these ARE better because they are not covered in ants. Really really spectacular long stemmed peony blooms, one flower per stem. Could not imagine how this could be improved. THANK YOU, WHITE FLOWER!

To maximize your bouquet’s vase life and keep your flowers looking their best, follow these simple instructions:

  • Give your vase a good scrub with diluted bleach (ratio of 1 part bleach to 10 parts water) to make sure no bacteria is lingering.
  • Dissolve contents of the enclosed flower food packet in your vase following the directions on the packet. Flower food is not included if your bouquet does not require it.
  • Recut the bottom of each stem at an angle, removing at least 2” to your desired height.
  • The blossoms will take up a lot of water in the first couple of days. Check the water level daily and add water as needed. Replace water every 2–3 days.
  • To lengthen the life of your bouquet, recut the stems in 3–4 days.
  • Remove older flowers as they fade.
  • Keep your bouquet away from direct sun, drafts, and sources of heat.

For Rose bouquets:
Gently remove the outer guard petals, which may be bruised or damaged.

For larger Gerbera Daisies:
Gently remove the protective netting around each flower head and adjust the plastic tube on each stem so that the top of the tube rests against the base of the flower head.
