Did you forget to order Hyacinth bulbs last fall? You can still enjoy these colorful and cheerful spring blossoms at your house. This season, we’re delighted to offer prepotted baskets full of spring-flowering favorites. Exceptional Hyacinthus orientalis 'Gipsy Queen' provides a distinctive and beautiful display of deep salmon blossoms touched with apricot and rose. Heirloom, 1927. Our bulb baskets are 12" wide x 6" tall and designed for outdoor display. They arrive ready to begin growing.

Each basket features a single variety of Hyacinth. Simply set the basket in a sunny spot outdoors after all threat of hard frost has passed. Water it occasionally, and, over the course of a few weeks, watch as green shoots then blossoms appear. Choose a single basket for your porch, patio, or front stoop, or order several different types so you can mix and match colors and flower forms to create a vibrant display.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

Set the pot of Hyacinth bulbs in a sunny location outside. They will endure spring’s freezing and thawing temperatures, and precipitation, with minimal care. There is no need to fertilize. Water when the potting mix is dry to the touch. We recommend removing the pots from the basket before watering. Please note that the growth of the bulbs will be slower in colder temperatures and faster in warmer temperatures. Bulbs usually begin blooming 4-6 weeks after arrival.

What you do with your bulbs after they bloom depends on your climate and your inclinations. The Hyacinth bulbs can be planted outdoors if they are hardy in your area, and most are hardy to zone 4. If you choose to plant your Hyacinths, plant in the ground at a depth equivalent to about three times the bulb's height. Expect 2 or more years to pass before the bulbs will bloom again.
