The tender white petals of this Star Magnolia carry a faint blush and a mild fragrance. They are quite a sight to behold indoors in winter. We ship branches that are fully budded. The fuzzy grey pods will open and fall away as the lovely petals emerge. Branches shipped in early winter will take longer to open than branches shipped closer to spring. Either way, they offer a lovely preview of spring indoors before the real thing arrives.

In bud stage and in bloom, these branches add natural beauty and sculptural form to any décor. Due to the large size of some of the branches, the overall number you receive may vary, but we guarantee you will be pleased with your display. We recommend the use of a large, sturdy vase with these impressive branches.

  • We ship approximately 2-6 branches with each order
  • Branches measure approximately 3-4' long
  • Available January-April
Flowering Branches Care Instructions
To maximize your branches’ vase life, follow these simple instructions:
  • Remove any leaves from the base of the branches and cut off approximately 1” from the bottom of each stem with clippers, making sure to cut at an angle.
  • Fill a sturdy, clean vase with about 3” of water and arrange the stems in the vase.
  • Place your branches in a warm room with plenty of light if you want to speed up the opening of the buds. If you want to slow down their process, place in a cool room with no light.
  • Replace the water and recut the base of the stems every 4-5 days to aid in the opening of the flowers.
  • Remove older flowers as they fade.

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Very poor packaging for shipping

I am still waiting for the buds to open, so I can't review the flowers. As a regular customer of yours, I am extremely disappointed in the way these pricey branches were packed for shipping. Inside the shipping box, there was no protection around the branches and buds other than a layer of brown paper. As a result, more than a dozen of the buds were in the bottom of the box when I opened it. I'm sure the box was thrown around in shipping, as boxes always are. This paper offered NO protection for the buds.
I can't believe anyone would think that this is a viable way to ship these. Very disappointed. I have quince branches on order and hope that you learn how to pack branches by the time you ship those.
