HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED
The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.
WHEN WE SHIP
We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

fertilizer, smell and flies

I am new to this fertilizer, and it having been recommended on line as the best for (my first planting of) roses, I used it on my purchase of White Flower roses. I planted them a couple of days ago. My tools and clothes were covered with the smell of fish, probably given the amount of fertilizer recommended for first planting. However, when I went outside this morning, there were flies buzzing around the roses in copious amounts. I need to plant in containers on the stairs right outside my front door. Perhaps if I had a large yard where I could plant some distance away from my house this wouldn't be a problem. But I won't be using it even in small amounts to fertilize because I don't want to take the chance of attracting flies to every pot I own. Too bad, for my wallet and my plants, given the assurance of terrific blooms.

High Quality Fertilizer for flowering plants

This is a wonderful fertilizer; especially for blooming plants.....and it is completely natural. Expensive? Yes, but well worth it. This is the second year I used it and I just ordered 3 more bottles. Also, it can be sprinkled over the plant itself or watered above the roots. I used to catch a lot of pan fish; filet them and then bury the remains around garden plants and flowers. This is much easier!
