Nothing ignites a bed or mixed border like a mass planting of Zinnia 'Zowie! Yellow Flame.' Its brilliant, yellow-tipped petals start off magenta-pink then turn to scarlet-rose around a dramatic red-and-yellow cone. The blooms measure about 3″ across and are superb in bouquets. An All-America Selections® Winner for 2006.

Zinnias bloom incessantly from June to frost if they are provided with fertile soil and some water in dry spells. Newer varieties of these colorful annuals are more heat tolerant and mildew resistant.

Shipping

Shipping
Every state has agricultural regulations that restrict the shipment of certain plants. We're sorry, but we cannot ship this item to the following states: Washington, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Utah.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Amazing flowers

This is a beautiful cut flower. My favorite tall zinnia along with Uproar Rose. Easily five feet tall in my Atlanta garden.

Aptly Named Zinnia

Whoever named this zinnia got it exactly right. These zinnias are a bolt of lightning in the garden. I have limited space for sun-lovers, so I planted a small drift of three. They grow to the top of a three-foot stake, and bloom copiously. We're in a serious drought this summer, but the Zowie! zinnias soldier on with minimal maintenance. The cut flowers last forever -- there are a dozen on the kitchen table collected two weeks ago, still going strong.

My Favorite Zinnia!

The two plants I received last spring were healthy and green. I planted them in a 20 inch container together. They did very well all through the growing season and were constantly in bloom.

My all time favorite Zinnia. The most eye-catching variety.

Fantastic zinnias!

These flowers draw the eye, not matter what else is planted. They are also the most bullet-proof zinnias I've ever planted. As long as they get some water, they'll bloom all summer long, and into early fall.

Latin Name Pronunciation: zin'ee-uh

Annuals in the Daisy family have long been a favorite of gardeners. Zinnias are part of this cheery, heat-tolerant group, too, but now they have a new zing, thanks to several acclaimed lines with resistance to powdery mildew.

Grow in full sun in average, well-drained soil that stays evenly moist. When plants are 8-12" tall, cut off the top 3-4" of growth just above a set of leaves. This “pinching” helps promote branching, which leads to increased flower production.
