New lines of breeding have given our beloved Weigelas fresh garden glamour, offering repeat flowering without deadheading. This lively hot pink Weigela florida Sonic Bloom® selection covers itself with blossoms in late spring and follows up with repeated displays until frost. A Proven Winners®/Color Choice® variety. 'Bokrasopin' PP 24,572

The dozen or so species of the genus Weigela are easy-to-grow, deciduous woodland shrubs from east Asia. Their showy flowers attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and many Weigelas are worth growing in shrub borders or lightly shaded gardens for their foliage effects.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

A great shrub!

I planted this shrub in the summer of 2015 and it has been a stellar performer and blooms all season.

Beautiful shrub

Got 6 of them this past spring and they have doubled in size by now! Gorgeous pink flowers, constantly reblooming! Couldn't be happier with this purchase!

Latin Name Pronunciation: wye-jee'luh

Weigela has a round, mounded growth habit and flowers mid-May into June.  Flowers are rather tubular in form, in small clusters. Weigela will sometimes throw off a few flowers on and off all summer, up until frost. Growth rate is moderate: 12–24″ per year depending upon conditions.

CULTURE: Grow Weigela in full sun to partial shade and average garden soil with good drainage. Space 24–30″ apart. Fertilize just once, in early spring, with 5-10-5 or 5-10-10. Weigelas blooms on prior year's growth, so remove any dead or weak twigs in early spring, and prune after bloom if plant needs a bit of shaping.

PROBLEMS: Few problems with insects or diseases.

SUGGESTED USE: Front of the perennial or shrub border, foundation planting, along pathways. Attracts butterflies and hummingbirds.
