It may seem hard to believe that a newly planted bulb would bloom just a few weeks later, but that's exactly what these cheerful fall-blooming Crocus do the first year. We anticipate and welcome their return each fall just as much as we do their spring-blooming counterparts. Our mix includes 7 varieties listed below, and they will provide a long run of color in shades of lilac, purple, and white for a delightful fall finale. 25 bulbs cover 1½ sq ft.

  • Crocus pulchellus
  • Crocus pulchellus 'Albus'
  • Crocus speciosus
  • Crocus speciosus 'Albus'
  • Crocus speciosus 'Cassiope'
  • Crocus speciosus 'Artabir'
  • Crocus speciosus 'Conqueror'

We ship fall Crocus in September. The bulbs must be planted right away so they may go about the business of rooting. Fall Crocus grow best in a sunny, protected site.

For information on the planting and care of Crocus, click Growing Guide.

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. I ordered 1 package but now I wish I ordered more. They were sprouting when I received and planted them on 10/10. On 10/31 they were 6" tall with amazing blooms. It was supposed to be a variety but only 1 kind was received. Not complaining! I wish I knew which variety so I could order loads more.

They bloomed in the spring...we'll see if they bloom again in the fall.

I planted them as soon as I got them in the fall last year and they bloomed beautifully in the spring. I'm curious to see if they will bloom again this fall.

Simply Magical

I think I first purchased these 3 or 4 years ago. I had no idea there was such a thing as fall crocuses. I planted them and they came up within a few weeks. They have come back year after year and I always enjoy them. I've ordered them once or twice more just so I would have more in more parts of my yard. It is so nice to have a perennial like this that blooms in the fall.

Lovely little gems to add fall colors

I ordered a bag of 25 of these fall-blooming crocuses in late August in 2019, and they were delivered at the beginning of October 2019. All 25 bulbs looked firm and in good condition. Per instruction, I planted them right away. In a little over one week, I started seeing little shoots coming up through the mulch. Today, 13 days after planting, I saw the first two blooms! There are even some bulbs bearing more than one flower shoot in this mix. I'm delighted to see these cute little crocuses at this time of the year when other perennials start to dwindle down. I'm looking forward to seeing the bloom from the rest of the numerous flower shoots in this flower bed, and I plan to order many more of them next year for my other flower beds. Thank you White Flower Farm for such a wonderful product! As always, you folks deliver!

My Mother always loved to see the Crocus bloom first in Spring. Her birthday is on March 19th, so very near the Vernal Equinox. Her Mother was always glad to see her birthday come.
In any case, one year I planted crocus bulbs out front under a tree by the walkway to the front steps. The next year, when they bloomed, all kinds of beautiful little purple, white and yellow flowers came up, very delicate little things, some white with thin purple veins. And she was both surprised and delighted, as she didn't know I had planted them.
This Harbinger of Spring will always be welcome, no matter who you give them to. This year she is 89.
The Chinese add nine months to your age, dating you from conception. So she is almost ninety.
The Chinese also say, "Every day is your Birthday."
In a way, every moment is a Birth moment. So go ahead and splurge, Tomorrow never comes.
