Product Details
Each forest-green heart-shaped leaf of Scindapsus ‘Silver Satin’ is overlaid with mottled, silvery green areas flanking a green, central rib-zone. The quilted leaves are edged in the same, almost-metallic color and shine like silver as light plays across their surface. This trailing beauty looks marvelous in a hanging planter or cascading from a well-lit shelf or table, or can be simply coiled loosely in its pot for a more contained look. As undemanding as any houseplant could be, 'Silver Satin' asks only for medium to bright, indirect light, occasional water (not too much), and perhaps a sponge bath when leaves get dusty.
The genus Scindapsus, comprising 20 to 25 species of perennial flowering plants in the Arum family (Araceae), is native to tropical regions of Southeast Asia, New Guinea, Queensland, and the Pacific Islands. Often mistaken for Pothos (Epipremnum) or Philodendron, Scindapsus species share similar growth habits, climbing with aerial roots or cascading. Like most tropical plants originating below the tree canopy, Scindapsus prefers warmth, humidity, and bright indirect light, but it is also a remarkably resilient houseplant.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED
The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.
WHEN WE SHIP
We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

Growing guide
Latin Name Pronunciation: sin-dap' sis
Light: Scindapsus is an easy-care plant that thrives indoors in rooms with filtered or bright indirect light.
Watering: Water when the top 1" of the potting mix is dry to the touch.
Humidity: Plants thrive in moderate to high humidity levels. Keep away from radiators and vents that blow dry air from heating or air conditioning systems. Set pots on top of pebbles in a tray with water (don’t let water touch the pot) or run a humidifier nearby. Wiping leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust occasionally is beneficial.
Fertilizer: When plants are in active growth from spring through summer, use a balanced (20-20-20) houseplant fertilizer monthly, diluted to half strength.
