Athyrium niponicum pictum - Japanese Painted Fern
Perennial Plant of the Year for 2004, Japanese Painted Fern is an Oriental beauty with 12-18in fronds that blend gray green and wine red. This most colorful of Ferns shows its markings best in partial shade and evenly moist soil.
