Monarda
Monarda is a North American genus that has several species, all of which share tartly fragrant foliage and square stems that typify members of the Mint family. The flower heads are hemispheres of tubular blooms in brilliant colors that present a feast of nectar for pollinators including bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds in mid- to late-summer. Plants thrive in full sun or partial shade and evenly moist soil. Under these conditions, they will gladly fill any available space but are easily pulled where unwanted and transplant readily. Deer-resistant, too.
