Water-Wise Perennials
The wide world of perennials includes any number of plants that thrive on considerably less water than others. These plants are a gift to gardeners in areas of the country where rain tends to be infrequent. They are also ideal for drier spots in gardens everywhere. From Agastache (Hummingbird Mint) to Achillea (Yarrow), and Lavender to Kniphofia (Red Hot Pokers), these plants, once settled, grow beautifully in well-drained soil that receives only occasional water from Mother Nature or the garden hose.
