Fall-Blooming Bulbs
Just as the garden is winding down for the season, a small group of fall-planted bulbs surprises us by blooming in autumn, rather than with the Daffodils or Tulips. A majority of them may bloom the same fall in which they are planted, as long as planting occurs promptly upon delivery. For others, the foliage appears in spring, then the bulbs go dormant until the bright flowers emerge in fall, seemingly by magic. We anticipate and welcome the appearance of these bulbs each fall just as much as we do spring-blooming bulbs.
