Cleome
A Central and South American native, Cleome blooms without pause, beginning in late June here and continuing until frost. It's a plant of rare beauty, throwing large, globe-shaped flower heads in a range of soft shades, including white. Its amazingly delicate and spidery blooms give it the nickname "spider flower." Cleome plants are tough and vigorous, and make excellent backbone plants in mixed borders and cottage gardens.
