Adaptable Eastern Native Plants

We value the native plants around us that persist in abundance, showing themselves to be adapting well to our warming and unpredictable climate. We love seeing them flourish in natural areas and welcome them into our home landscapes, for many are excellent garden plants as well. The plants on this page tend to have a broad range throughout the East and include natives to our Ecoregion and “near natives,” hardy, heat-adapted native plants from adjacent areas to our south. They will grow well in other parts of the country with similar conditions, but are truly at home in the East.
