Growing Chives (Allium schoenoprasum)

Chives are hardy herbs that can be planted in containers and garden beds where their leaves are easy to harvest from spring through fall. Plants will spread by seed if the spent flower heads are not removed.

Plant Chives in full sun and average, well-drained soil. Plants appreciate regular moisture so water when the top 1″ of soil is dry to the touch. Feed monthly with a balanced fertilizer. Plants can be divided in spring.
