How to grow Lindera (Spicebush)

Latin Name Pronunciation: lin-dare’uh

This genus is comprised of around 80 species of trees and shrubs known for their aromatic leaves, star-shaped flowers, and colorful fall foliage. Plants have a broad, multibranched, rounded form that works well in shrub borders and woodland gardens.

Plant in full sun to part shade. Shrubs prefer moist but well-drained, acidic soil. Fertilize in spring with a balanced granular fertilizer, such as 10-10-10. Prune after flowering to maintain the shape as needed.
