Whichford Pottery’s Kitchen Garden Pot is a versatile workhorse in the greenhouse and garden. The generous rim makes easy business of moving the pot from outdoors to inside the house. The mouth of the vessel, which is slightly broader than the base, helps gardeners slide plants in and out. In addition to the single large hole that is standard on the bottom of most Whichford pots, the Kitchen Garden vessel has 4 extra side holes to promote excellent drainage for a wide variety of plantings. For a decorative detail, a slender and subtle band of embossed type just below the rim repeats the brand name and address, Whichford Pottery, Warwickshire, England. The pot is available in three sizes. It’s a terrific choice for herbs including Basil, Rosemary, Chives, and Tarragon, and it also makes a handsome home for select annuals and perennials. Group a few Kitchen Garden Pots of various sizes to create a portable herb garden that can spend summer on the patio before being moved indoors for winter. We recommend the use of larger bark mulch or a wire mesh screen to cover the single large drainage hole. This prevents soil loss from the bottom of the pot.

  • Small pot measures approximately 8" wide x 7" tall
  • Medium pot measures approximately 10½" wide x 9½" tall
  • Large pot measures approximately 12½" wide x 11" tall
  • One drainage hole
  • For outdoor or indoor use
  • Handmade in Warwickshire, England

All Whichford pots have a 10-year frost-proof guarantee. In colder climates where they may be subject to freeze/thaw cycles, we recommend emptying and storing them indoors. If you choose to overwinter your pots outside, cover them and place in a protected area where they are not in contact with bare ground.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP
