HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

Beautiful plant!

Another plant from my order that left me very pleased. Graceful palm that arrived in excellent condition.

Pygmy Date Palm

The Pygmy Date Palm arrived very quickly and packaged perfectly. The palm is full and potted well for the expected growth. It's a lovely balance between the delicate palm leaves and the way they gently open.

My very fixable lament is that I didn't order 2 to begin.

Pygmy Date Palm

I have to tell you that I was extremely disappointed in the two palms that I received this past Friday. All of your photos show palms that are at least 3-5 ft high. The two I received were only 22" high and look dwarfed in comparison to the woven pot they came in. The pots are bigger than the actual plant. What was supposed to be a great splash of greenery in my home look foolish in the containers they were placed.

Print Grow Guide

Palms are attractive ornamentals throughout the world in tropical or Mediterranean-like climates. Many are easy-to-grow houseplants in colder regions and will produce new glossy, dark green leaves each year. The mature plant height of our houseplants reflects what we expect the plant to grow under normal houseplant conditions. The instructions below are for growing indoors.

LIGHT: Provide your plant with plenty of light near a south- or west-facing window.

WATERING: Water thoroughly when the surface of the soil mix is dry to the touch. Plants require less water during the winter months when they are not actively growing.

TEMPERATURE: Provide room temperatures above 50°F.

FERTILIZER: When plants are in active growth from April through September, use a balanced (18-18-18) houseplant fertilizer monthly, diluted to half strength.
