The blue and white daisylike flowers of Anemone blanda belong in every garden because they are inexpensive and easy to grow and are the perfect foil for late Daffodils and all the May-blooming Tulips. Their diminutive stature also makes them ideal for carpeting shrub borders and naturalizing in the lawn. All these delightful bulbs need are well-drained soil and plenty of sunshine before the trees leaf out. For best effect, plant with a lavish hand. Not labeled. 50 bulbs cover 3–5 sq ft.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Beautiful explosion of color

I've had mixed luck with anemone in the past (pathetic blooms, undependable, didn't spread), so I ordered some from WFF this time. I trust your stock more than any others. I was not disappointed. Almost every bulb produced flowers and gave a beautiful little explosion of color in a small area of our yard that doesn't get much attention. I'm hoping they will spread, and I'll probably order more for other little areas of the yard. Beautiful and such cheerful little faces!

Disappointment

Wasted money. Two little clumps barely came up, never flowered, and free so pathetically that my husband thought they were weeds and dug them out. Everything around them is fine and healthy.

bright and cheerful early bloomers

Planted about 50 of these at the edge of our porch, near a bed of daffodils. Very early, easy to plant and care for, reliable rebloom for multiple years. Beautiful with the yellow daffs. Wish they were available in blue only, since I think they are more striking without the white ones blended in.

KEEPER!

I planted these anemones near my tulips last fall, and was so charmed by them this Spring. They were one of the first to flower in the Spring, and they lasted a LONG time. They look like little daisies on a short, somewhat airy plant. Filling in at the base of the tulips, they were really pretty. I plan to buy more to plant this fall.

anemone tuber

Latin Name Pronunciation: ah-nem'-oh-nee

Bulb size: 6-8 cm

Soak the tubers overnight before planting. Plant 2-3" deep and 3-4" apart in humus-rich soil (10-15 per sq ft). It's difficult to tell tops from bottoms, so we try to plant these small, flattened tubers on their narrower edges. This woodland plant is adaptable to sunny spots, especially in the North.
