There's nothing old-fashioned about this stylish member of the Zahara® Hot Summer Survivors series. A truly red Zinnia, it was bred for resistance to mildew and leaf spot. Once established, Zahara® Red needs little watering—a great choice for low-maintenance color in containers and borders.

Zinnias bloom incessantly from June to frost if they are provided with fertile soil and some water in dry spells. Newer varieties of these colorful annuals are more heat tolerant and mildew resistant.

Shipping
Every state has agricultural regulations that restrict the shipment of certain plants. We're sorry, but we cannot ship this item to the following states: Washington, Nevada, Texas, Oregon, Utah.

HOW PLANTS ARE SHIPPED

The size of the plants we ship has been selected to reduce the shock of transplanting. For some, this means a large, bareroot crown. Others cannot travel bareroot or transplant best if grown in containers. We ship these perennials and annuals in 1 pint pots, except as noted. We must point out that many perennials will not bloom the first year after planting, but will the following year, amply rewarding your patience. We ship bulbs as dormant, bare bulbs, sometimes with some wood shavings or moss. Shrubs, Roses, vines, and other woody plants may be shipped bareroot or in pots. The size of the pot is noted in the quick facts for each item.

WHEN WE SHIP

We ship our bulbs and plants at the right time for planting in your area, except as noted, with orders dispatched on a first-come, first-served basis by climate zone. We also ship a wide range of containers and planters, tools, supplies, fertilizers, garden wear, garden decor items, as well as indoor decorations like wreaths and dried bouquets when available. Estimated dates for shipping are indicated in the green Shipping Details box for each item. Please supply a street address for delivery. Kindly contact us with two weeks notice, if you'll be away at the expected time of delivery.

OUR GUARANTEE

We guarantee to ship plants that are in prime condition for growing. If your order is damaged or fails to meet your expectations, we will cheerfully replace or refund it. Please contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-503-9624 or email us at [email protected]. Please include your order number or customer number when contacting us.

Red Zahara Zinnia awesome

A viewer from Charleston sc

The red Zahara zinnia number 78901 was part of one of my annual collections that I put in a big pot full sun until 2 PM it is becoming one of my favorite plants. I typically have excellent success. Unfortunately, I live out in the country and sometimes my post office messes up getting the box to me soon enough so that would be my only complaint. From what I understand when things are shipped UPS they are allowed to take them to the local post office and for me that typically means death to my pretty plants.

Latin Name Pronunciation: zin'ee-uh

Annuals in the Daisy family have long been a favorite of gardeners. Zinnias are part of this cheery, heat-tolerant group, too, but now they have a new zing, thanks to several acclaimed lines with resistance to powdery mildew.

Grow in full sun in average, well-drained soil that stays evenly moist. When plants are 8-12" tall, cut off the top 3-4" of growth just above a set of leaves. This “pinching” helps promote branching, which leads to increased flower production.
