The term "bulb" is commonly used in reference to a variety of plants with a large storage root (or stem) from which the plant grows every year. This group includes familiar names like Daffodils and Tulips, as well as many other equally valuable genera. These miracles of nature require only moisture and rising temperatures to end their dormancy and begin to grow. That means bulbs generally are easy and foolproof garden plants.
With the exception of a few "fall-blooming" types, bulbs are planted in the fall and bloom the following spring. We ship bulbs at the right time for planting (usually beginning in early September), and most varieties are shipped bareroot (not potted in soil).
