Foxtail Lily

The Eremurus genus (Foxtail Lily) contains about 40 species native to Asia, all of which have thick, fleshy roots. Their flowers are borne in long, thick spires that resemble ascending flares, and their pyrotechnical show lends drama to the early-summer border. They like rich, well-drained soil and lots of sun.
